Dear Family
My teaching is rooted in the principles of the Suzuki Method, which is built on the belief that every child can learn and thrive. By creating a nurturing and caring environment, I give each student the opportunity to progress at their own pace while developing confidence and a love of music. With a degree in violin performance and years of performing experience, I discovered my true passion lies in working with children — helping them grow through learning and experiencing music. I am also qualified in Special Needs Assisting, and I believe this training, combined with my Suzuki expertise, gives me a unique perspective and the ability to see and support each child as an individual.
My Experience
I began teaching privately in Skerries and Malahide before moving to Cork. For 2 years I worked as an Assistant Violin Lecturer at MTU (Munster Technological University). During this time, I taught in five primary schools around Cork, delivering Suzuki violin programs and supporting young musicians at every stage of their learning. I also helped to pioneer an exciting violin program in Ballincollig, offering every child in the school the opportunity to learn the violin. This program continues to flourish today, and I remain closely involved with its ongoing development.
My Skills and Talents
As a violinist I have performed with many orchestras across Ireland, including the CSM Symphony Orchestra, Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra, DIT Symphony Orchestra, Hibernian Symphony Orchestra, Dublin Symphony Orchestra, and more. I have also appeared as part of the live band on numerous occasions on The RTÉ Late Late Show. As a child I was a competitive gymnast and later became a gymnastics coach with DP Gymnastics Balbriggan, developing strong skills in discipline, focus, and teaching young people. I enjoy running, sea swimming, and reading - activities that help me stay active, balanced, and inspired
