Dear Family
I’m Millie, I am currently in my final year studying Geography and French at Trinity! I am fluent in French and have many hobbies. I have previous experience with child minding and would love to do some more as a distraction from my studies!!
My Favourite Memory
Thinking back on my childhood from when I was in my tiny national school in Connemara, my sister and I would be collected and homework was always the first thing to do when arriving home. Then the rest of the afternoon was spent playing inside / outside depending on the weather! My mum is an artist so we would always try to ‘help’ her and see if we could do the same as she did with our limited arts and crafts sets!! Dinner time was always a highlight as we were included in helping with both food preparation and laying the table etc. One of the things in my childhood I am most greatful for is that screens were not a big part of our lives! My parents didn't necessarily have strict rules surrounding them but as we had so many other fun things to do we just didn’t need them!!!
My Experience
I have previously babysat for families throughout my college years. I am also a senior sailing instructor and have taught children from the age of 4 to sail while also entertaining them with endless games and activities on land when the weather doesnt allow for sailing! I am therefore garda vetted and have completed 2 levels of child safeguarding.
My Education
I am currently in my final year studying Geography and French at Trinity College. I attended the Kings Hospital School as a boarder for the entirety of my secondary education, which was the best thing ever and taught me so many important life skills (along with education too of course)!
My Family
My family are based in Connemara in the West of Ireland! My mum is originally from Kildare and my dad is French therefore I am very lucky to be bilingual! I have one sister who is almost 2 years younger than me, we have always got on very well and were brought up in a creative, foody household where boredom didn't exist, we played with our dolls and did arts and crafts all day long!
My Motivation
As a final year student I am looking for part time work that will allow me to remove myself from studies for a few hours! Having previous experience babysitting and managing summer sailing camps I have spent a lot of time looking after and playing with children and would love to continue!!
My Interests
I love cooking, baking, arts and crafts, sports, reading! I have been a senior sailing instructor at home since 2022 and therefore have endless experience with young children both teaching them how to sail in a reassuring manner and also entertaining them through various land based activities when the weather doesn't allow for sailing!
