Dear Family
Hi! My name is Hannah and I’m a 23 year-old Irish musician. I love working with children. I have lots of experience working with babies and kids of all ages, but am looking to mind children aged 2 - 3 and older at the moment :) I have done lots of childminding and have been chosen to work on several children’s camps, both in Ireland and abroad in Italy for three summers. I speak conversational French, I love learning French and have just spent time in France to practice French. I am fluent in English. I am learning Italian and Spanish. I am currently studying for my internationally recognised 120 hour TEFL (Teaching English As A Foreign Language) certificate so I am almost TEFL qualified. I have 120 hours of in person TEFL experience teaching Polish adults English in Poland. I love being creative and doing arts and crafts with children, getting outside in nature when the weather’s nice, and going for walks or playing in the garden. I enjoy helping children learn new things, either through doing their homework with them, reading together, or playing fun, educational games. My Favourite Memory
One of my favorite memories was when a family I was childminding for suggested I take the children to the local library. It was a gorgeous summer’s day so the walk there was lovely. We played with some building blocks in the library’s play area, and the children bought took out and returned library books. On the way back we went to the local park and the kids had a great time in the playground. Other favorite childminding memories I have include playing with Lego with a really bright little boy I used to mind in Wicklow Town. My little brother loves Lego too.
My Experience
I worked with a children’s art company called Me & The Moon from 2018 - 2020. We ran children’s art camps and parties. I was chosen to work on a children’s summer camp in Italy as a tutor, teaching Italian children English and Music in 2022, 2023, and 2024. I worked as one of Santa’s elves at Killruddery House and Gardens, Bray’s Christmas experience 2018 and 2019, and as one of Santa’s elves at Santa’s Grotto in Coffee Delights Bray in 2021. I really loved the Santa’s Grotto elf jobs! I have also done lots of private childcare jobs at parents’ homes. I am very happy to provide references for childminding I have done, as well as petsitting and housesitting. I am an experienced house sitter and pet sitter both in Ireland and abroad, so I’m more than happy to help with any pets you might have too, or housework. I love animals, especially cats.
My Education
I studied Music Performance at the Bray Institute of Further Education (BIFE) and graduated with a Level 6 Merit Music Performance certificate. Outside of a university/college space, I have studied for a TEFL Teaching English As A Foreign Language certificate through Premier TEFL which I thoroughly enjoyed. It involved me travelling to both Poland and Italy to do in person practical teaching experience with both adults and children which was so rewarding.
My Family
I have a little brother Daniel who is 8 and my sister Rachel is 22 and has just started studying Law in Trinity College Dublin so I’m the eldest of three! My brother loves sports and attends a weekly musical club. He loves getting out in nature. My favorite family memories with my brother include making chocolate Rice Krispy buns together on Christmas Eve last year, and with my sister, all of the fun imaginative games we played together as kids growing up, as we were very close in age, and loved dress-up!
My Motivation
I have so many happy memories from the vibrant magical childhood I had which I think has influenced my love of children and their imagination. As an adult I have come to learn how challenging it can be to find reliable, kind minders for your children that you have 100% confidence in, and it’s been very fulfilling to be able to be that for families, and provide children with care in moments when their parents aren’t around.
My Interests
I love travelling. I love reading and writing, psychology, yoga, and meditating. I love my job working as a live musician. I love going for walks. I love learning languages. I am fluent in English of course, and can also speak French and Spanish too. In the past I have also studied Irish, Italian, and Mandarin (Chinese).
My Personality
I am a creative, fun, responsible and organised babysitter. I love being imaginative. I love walking, reading, and art, and doing these things with children. I am open-minded, sociable, easygoing and friendly. I have a lot of work experience in various different fields so am good at remaining calm in high-pressure environments. I think I have a relaxing nature which suits working with children. I’m happy to help your child learn guitar, do some singing, or do some yoga if they’re interested too! When childminding I will of course implement whatever routine your children are in (bed times, meal times, etc.)
