Dear Family
I'm very passionate for childcare and my years of experience thought me that not only I I care about the children I mind in that moment but what I can add to their future lives. Childhood is the birth of discoveries and I feel that being part of that journey is more than I job, is what makes life have meaning. I strongly believe that children are the future and should get the best care available, so I put myself at their disposal, I understand their needs, I learned how to me more patient as time went by, I hear them, I encourage them to express themselves, their feelings, thoughts and emotions, only hoping that it will make a difference in their lives.
My Favourite Memory
I'm from Sao Paulo, largest city of Brazil and my mom came from the South of the country, Rio Grande do Sul, 1000 Km away. So for most of my childhood, we would go on a road trip to spend Christmas and New Years with my mom's family and these trips will be forever in my heart. We'd bring some food, listen to some of our favourite CDs and drive all day long. Those were some good times.
My Experience
I have a vast experience working with children. I started working as a Au Pair for a 10 month old girl. I live with the family for 1 year and it was the best experience I could've wished for. After that I minded 2 boys aged 5 and 6. They were both very different, a gamer and a sporty, so as I'm a bit o both we had lots of fun in the afternoons after school. Then I minded a 6 yo girl and her 8 year old brother. As it was during the pandemic, we mostly played board games and created different activities indoors, and then hang out in the family back garden for fresh air. The following families were 2 sisters I worked for, they each had 3 kids aged 1, 4 and 6 yo. I minded the babies in the morning, changing nappies, putting down for naps, reading, playing, preparing meals, etc. After lunch I'd go to collect the other 4 from school and afterwards we would either go home, do homework, snacks and some other activity or stay at the park beside school all afternoon. My last and still current experience started at the same time as the previous one I mentioned. The little girl was only a 5 month old baby and the mom was starting to go back to work so I'd take care of her in the mean time for a few hours in the mornings. Then I became her full time childminder for a little while before she went to creche. When she was in creche, I would mind the 6 kids I mentioned during the day, then pick her up in creche around 5 and mind her till bedtime, 9pmish. Now I still mind her 3x per week after school till bedtime and we have the greatest relationship.
My Education
I studied Marketing and Advertisement in college. I did 6 years of English Studies in Brazil before coming to Ireland where I did 8 months of General English and then 8 months of IELTS preparation. I also studied a bit o French and Graphic Design in Brazil but never went through with those. I'm currently studying Italian.
My Family
I'm from Italian and Portuguese heritage, so we're foodies by birth. I'm very close to my family and we always find a way to be together. I have a younger sister and growing up my mom always brought us to the cinema, theatre, exhibitions and parks. The for of us always had breakfast together whenever we could but Sundays were sacred, it was our family time. Now whenever I visit, my mom, my sister and I always go somewhere new to explore, eat good food and spend some time together. My extended family is also very close, so we're always celebrating birthdays, special dates and sometimes just hanging out around a good food.
My Motivation
I worked minding children for several years and then decided to do something else for a change as I'd never worked with anything else in Ireland. I worked as an admin assistant for 2.5 years and now I want to go back to childminding because I miss the kids, I miss their energy, their curiosity, what I can teach them and what I learn from them. I can say that now I feel that's my call so I've decided to go back and also beyond studying Childcare as well and working with it.
My Interests
I love reading and writing in my free time or in the little break throughout the day. I also like drawing and painting which is why I love doing arts & crafts with the kids I mind. I love a good movie, so I go to the cinema very often and I also love to watch my favourite tv shows over and over.
