Hello, I'm Antonia Rocchio.
Hello! My name is Antonia, and I am originally from Vermont, USA, though I have lived in Dublin for the past five years. I recently graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, and I am hoping to pursue a future career in medicine. Alongside my studies and professional work, childcare has always been a central part of my life. I have extensive hands-on experience as a nanny and babysitter, caring for children from newborns to young school-age kids. Over the years, I’ve looked after multiple children at once, including a family of three siblings aged 2–7, where I managed routines, school runs, mealtimes, and play, while ensuring each child felt supported and cared for. I also have experience with babies and toddlers, helping with feeding, nap schedules, and early developmental play. I’m excited to bring my experience and enthusiasm to a full-time nanny role and to provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment for the kids I care for.
My Family
Family has always been at the center of my life. I’m very close with my older brother, who now lives in London, and even though we both live far from our parents, we make a big effort to stay connected. Growing up, the four of us spent a lot of time traveling together, being outdoors, and sharing family meals. Whenever my brother and I go back home to Vermont it always feels really special: spending time outside, cooking together, and simply enjoying each other’s company. We also make the most of any chance to meet when my parents visit Ireland or the UK, so we still get those moments of family time throughout the year.
My Favourite Memory
I don’t have just one favourite memory, but growing up skiing and snowboarding definitely shaped some of my most special ones. My dad worked on Ski Patrol throughout my childhood, so he was always with us on the mountain and taught us everything we knew. One moment that stands out was when I had just transitioned to snowboarding around age eight, and he took me down my first black run. It was daunting at the time, but he talked me through each step. I made it down in one piece, and although it was a huge challenge, it became one of those memories that sticks with you. That same run is now one of my favourites. Later on, during a university ski trip, I went down my first off-piste run with friends. It gave me the same rush I had as a kid, except this time it was just me, no one telling me where to turn or which line to take. It was exhilarating and reminded me how those early experiences on the mountain gave me the confidence to face challenges on my own.
My Education
I graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, where I specialised in biochemistry. My studies gave me a strong background in health and science, as well as valuable experience working on research projects and managing responsibilities in a structured environment. Living and studying in Dublin for the past five years has also helped me grow as a person, balancing academics, work, and life while building a strong sense of organisation, reliability, and care.
My Interests
I’ve always had a wide range of interests, most of which connect back to staying active, learning, and being creative. I love spending time outdoors — snowboarding, hiking, and running are big parts of my life, and I also grew up rowing, which taught me a lot about discipline and teamwork. I’m an avid reader and always keep a small library with me wherever I live, filled with everything from novels and memoirs to non-fiction. Music has also been important to me; I enjoy playing the violin and exploring different styles. I’ve recently started learning Italian, which has been both fun and challenging. And, of course, science is a huge passion of mine — my degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences only deepened my fascination with understanding how things work, and I loved dedicating myself fully to it during my studies.
My Motivation
I’m interested in working with families because I really value the trust and connection that comes with being part of a child’s daily life. Growing up, I spent a lot of time caring for younger children and I’ve always enjoyed the sense of responsibility and joy that comes with helping them feel safe, supported, and happy. For me, working with families means being able to provide that consistency and care, while also building relationships that make a real difference in their everyday lives.
