Hello, I'm Uma.
Hi there! I'm a recent graduate of Trinity College Dublin where I studied English Literature. I have with plenty of experience with young children, including much younger siblings, and aim to always be a positive and enthusiastic presence in children's lives. I love reading, music, singing and dancing, cooking and baking, playing cards, nature and much more.
My Family
I grew up in a house filled with music, art and constant travelling. My family members are all outgoing, exuberant people. I have two brothers, one six years older than me, one 13 years younger and too many cousins to count. I believe that intergenerational living is so important for young people. My mother is Irish and my father is Indian so grew up with a deep appreciation for different cultures.
My Favourite Memory
In a small town in the South of France there is a festival every summer where bands and dancers and horses fill the street. I used to watch the flamenco dancers in awe and eventually convinced my mother to buy me a flamenco dress! It was always a magical experience.
My Education
I attended primary and secondary school in South London where I obtained two A*'s and one A at A level in English, Drama, and History. I then went on to Trinity College Dublin for my undergraduate and intend to move back to London eventually to complete my masters.
My Interests
I am an avid reader and consumer of music, both new and old. I love to stretch and do yoga as well as being a big foodie and love to cook and bake. More than anything I am incredibly sociable and love to pass the time with my closest friends, talking or sharing an experience.
My Motivation
I have always worked with children and find myself happiest when doing so. I am working multiple jobs to eventually put myself through a masters degree and find childcare to be very flexible.
