I'm Claire. I'm a qualified executive and career coach (EMCC). I enable professional Mums and Dads to navigate a smoother work-life-family balance. I have a psychology background, worked in Google for a decade as a sales leader and have 10 years' experience in global and local advertising agencies, up to Board of Management level, under my belt. My Favourite Memory
Returning to a corporate job after my first maternity leave was daunting. How would I juggle the commute, the workload, the pace, the travel? Did I want to progress or plateau? Should I change roles? Industries? Did I want another child? Who could I talk to about this stuff?! A colleague met me for my first breakfast back in the office. She had three children, was ambitious and had clear values and priorities. It turned into a life- and career-changing, two-hour discussion. She listened deeply and asked me great questions that allowed me to come to my own conclusions. The power of coaching really struck me and it's now an integral part of my working life.
My Experience
In my private practice, I support professionals facing career transitions: return to work after maternity or paternity leave; redundancy; long-term illness; team member to manager; manager to director and location change. At Google, I managed international teams and had a particular interest in career development. Assessing strengths, interests and values and then matching those to projects and roles has always been a passion of mine. As has encouraging and enabling folks to believe in their own capabilities and build the necessary support systems around them, so that they can live a balanced life. I've been an Adopt a Start Up business mentor and a Future Leaders mentor while at Google. I've lived overseas, so understand the highs and lows of relocation. I've been through the emotional rollercoaster of redundancy and know both the pressure and the freedom it can bring. I'm a single parent of two energetic young sons, aged four and six.
