Dear Family

Dear Families, I moved to Ireland after completing my Law degree in Mexico to improve my English. Since then, I have gained several years of childcare experience working with three families on a long-term basis, as well as providing occasional childcare for guests at a prestigious hotel in Dublin. This role requires a great deal of trust, as parents are often meeting me for the first time before leaving their children in my care. I understand how important it is for families to feel confident that their children are safe, happy and well cared for while they enjoy their own plans. I always aim to create a warm, engaging and fun experience tailored to each child’s age and interests, whether that means arts and crafts, board games, outdoor adventures, swimming, reading stories or simply spending quality time together. I also keep parents updated with photos and messages throughout the booking, giving them complete peace of mind. I was honoured to be recognised as Minder of the Month after receiving the highest number of positive guest reviews. This recognition reflects my commitment to providing professional, reliable and attentive childcare with kindness, patience and enthusiasm. I look forward to helping make your family’s stay in Dublin both relaxing and memorable.

My Favourite Memory

One of the families I work with in Ireland has a little girl who is seven and I remember one day when we decided to take a day trip. It was her first time on a train and she was so excited she talked to every single person we met.

My Experience

My Experience Since moving to Ireland, I have had the opportunity to work with several families across Dublin, caring for children ranging from 6 months to 8 years old. My experience includes both long-term nanny positions and occasional childcare for families staying at a prestigious hotel, where I have cared for children of different ages and nationalities. My responsibilities have included school drop-offs and pick-ups, preparing breakfast, lunchboxes and children’s meals, helping with homework and early learning, establishing bedtime routines, supporting sleep training, organising fun and educational activities, and encouraging outdoor play. I also enjoy reading with children and helping to develop their confidence, curiosity and love of learning. I currently work as a school runner for a 7-year-old girl. Each morning I prepare her breakfast, get her school uniform ready, pack her lunch and accompany her to school by public transport, ensuring she starts her day feeling calm, organised and happy. One of the families I worked with had a 3-year-old girl, and I focused on preparing her for preschool by helping her develop her early reading and writing skills. We also learned basic Spanish together, spent lots of time outdoors, and encouraged healthy eating habits—she proudly calls herself the “Salad Queen” now! I have also cared for babies from six months old, supporting parents with sleep training and establishing healthy daily routines. Throughout my childcare experience, I have worked with children at different developmental stages, always adapting my approach to each child’s personality and needs. In addition to my work with families, I have provided childcare for hotel guests, often meeting parents and children for the first time. This experience has strengthened my ability to build trust quickly, create a safe and enjoyable environment, and help families feel completely at ease while they enjoy their time together. I am patient with potty training, picky eaters and developmental milestones, and I have completed an online course in sleep training. Above all, I love creating a caring, positive and engaging environment where children feel safe, confident and happy.

My Education

I have taken online courses on sleep training and childhood nutrition.

My Family

I come from a very close family in Mexico City. I grew up with my grandparents and extended family close by. I have one sister who is seven years younger than me and is still back in Mexico but I speak with her all the time.

My Motivation

My primary motivation is to work with families where I can help them with their childcare and household tasks and I can improve my English and learn about integrating into the Irish culture.

My Interests

In my spare time I love to relax by completing large jigsaw puzzles and going on long cycles with my boyfriend to try different places to eat out. We are from Mexico and it is really hard to find authentic Mexican food in Ireland :-)

I cannot say enough great things about Karen. I was nervous about hiring a sitter from afar and without meeting them. Karen made getting to know her easy and built trust quickly. She came to our hotel with games to play with our boys and was ready to jump in the pool with them. Whatever the kids wanted to do (within reason!) she was ready and on board. Karen was also very good with communication. I cannot recommend her enough!

Karen was great, the kids loved her. She was very communicative and responsive when we were looking for updates. She followed our routine and when we returned, the two toddlers were fast asleep.

Karen has been our babysitter for over a year, and we couldn’t be happier with her care. She is wonderful with our son—matching his energy, keeping him engaged during playtime, and always ensuring a fun and safe environment. Highly responsive, detail-oriented, and punctual, Karen is someone we have come to rely on with complete confidence. I also appreciate her eagerness to learn from us as parents to align with our preferences in caring for our child. I would highly recommend Karen to any family—she has been a fantastic presence in our son's life.
