About

What are the things keeping parents up at night? We asked, parents answered. So we asked six experts to present a series of Live Sessions on the most important topics: Childcare Sleep Training Fussy Eating Worrisome Behaviours DeCluttering and Household Labour Motherhood Mental Health See package details for expert bios, dates and content descriptions. Email öogo with any questions: hello@oogo.me Six Live Expert Sessions on "The Things That Keep Parents up at Night". We've all been there. Googling into the early hours and disappearing down rabbit holes of over information trying to navigate the one job that is all consuming and getting harder by the generation. We asked parents what was keeping them up at night and then we curated a Series of Summer Sessions with experts on each topic hosted live on öogo Interactive each week from May 21st to June 25th each Wednesday at 3pm. Session 1: Childcare Hacks with Claire Carroll (ex-Google) & Kate Clark (Founder/CEO @ öogo) There is a childcare crisis and each year parents setting out to find childcare find it more and more difficult with supply diminishing and lack of access to credible information. As one of the most neglected crucial industries in the world, childcare often falls on female shoulders leaving working Mums overwhelmed trying to navigate it all. Claire and Kate share knowledge on how to know what childcare is right for you and how to manage expectations and build the layers of support to help you not just survive but thrive. Session 2: DeClutter your Home with Jennie O'Rourke, Mum of 5 and Founder of Uncluttered.ie We all have a cupboard or room in our home that has long since been surrendered to 'The Clutter'. It's hard for the regular spring cleans needed to keep on top of it all to get prioritised in busy households juggling jobs and family rearing. Jennie offers a candid look at how to tackle the clutter and stop future creep. Her humorous and humane approach to something so mundane is a much needed tonic for most households. Session 3: Fussy Eating with Niamh Landy, Paediatric Dietician at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. Niamh is all too aware how distressing it can be for parents facing fussy eaters. Ensuring growing bodies get adequate vitamins and nutrients is central to development and emotional regulation so for parents who are already struggling there will be a practical tool kit around how to build healthy eating habits and for those unsure of how serious things might get there will information on where to go for help and how to navigate the system. Session 4: Motherhood Mental Health with Dr Cat Hynds, Perinatal Psychiatrist at Holles Street NMH New mothers often suffer in silence which can have devastating effects if undetected. Cat says she studied at one of the best universities in the world so she would not have to prescribe medication unless it was absolutely necessary. Rather Dr Cat has trained in a form of video therapy focused on building connections and confidence and reversing negative narratives. Listen to how this approach can transform the early stages of motherhood for those struggling and learn how to see help for yourself or a loved one if worrying signs are accumulating. Session 5: Worrying Behaviour - From Toddler Tantrums to Teenage Trauma with Claire Conlon, Child Psychologist at Central Remedial Clinic From experiencing tantrums with your first child to loosing sleep over teenagers bottling up big feelings, Claire focuses on movement and attachment and the cornerstones to building the best foundations to helping your children navigate normal developmental phases. Parents equipped with knowledge and managed expectations can better guide children through these phases and steer them clear from developing ingrained worrying internal behavioural patterns. Session 6: Sleep Training with Ursula and Erica, Professional Sleep Consultants and Mothers Sleep deprivation is a recognised form of torture and yet parents are expected to operate ferociously busy lives often on prolonged periods of reduced sleep. Learning that there is help out there is the first step to building healthy sleep habits for the whole family and these two seasoned professionals discuss the different approaches to sleep training, where to find help and how to structure the best help according to your situation and values.
