Dear Family

My name is Emily and I am 20! I am studying Commerce in UCD. I have been minding children since I was 15 and I absolutely adore them. I have made amazing connections with the families I babysit for and I am always excited to return to them and see them! I am punctual and reliable and have a genuine love for minding children.

My Favourite Memory

There are two memories that stand out for me. The first is when I was doing placement in a crèche and the children in my class made a massive going-away card for me with all their little hand prints and names. The second is when I took a little girl I regularly babysit to the farm when she was having a sad day. She was on the see-saw with me for nearly an hour and I have never seen her so elated in my life.

My Experience

I have 5 years' experience in babysitting and three years' experience in full-day childminding. I have many families I babysit for on a very regular basis. Over the last 3 years I have done full time childminding during the summer​/​school holidays. I have experience with children aged 6 months-15 years. I have also brought children swimming, on public transport and on regular daily outings.

My Education

I attended Mount Anville from the age of 5-18. I absolutely loved school. I am now a student in UCD studying International Commerce.

My Family

I live with my parents and my younger brother. I also have a dog called Bear. My brother and I are four years apart but get along amazingly well.

My Motivation

I do not find it difficult to feel motivated as I have a genuine love of caring for children. It really does not feel like work for me. I love helping them read or play. I am gentle and the response I get from kids is usually the main thing that motivates me.

My Interests

I love long walks and going to the park or beach. I love to read and watch movies. I spend a lot of time finding new cafés to get hot chocolate with my friends! We usually go for long walks and then find a brand new coffee shop each time.
