Dear Family

My name is Lauren, and I'm a second year student studying Primary Teaching. My dream is to work as a primary school teacher in Australia! I was there last year and loved it.

My Favourite Memory

My favorite memory minding children was probably when myself and two little girls I was babysitting (aged 5 and 8) were playing with chalk in their back yard drawing shops! They had so much fun. I love playing imaginative games with children.

My Experience

I've been minding children for years now, I absolutely love kids! I have experience with minding children from aged 2 - 12. I also worked as a camp coordinator on children's summer camps for two summers, and have done several work experience placements through my college course.

My Education

I'm currently studying in St. Patrick's Drumcondra, and am interested in doing a master's abroad when I'm done. I did very well in my Leaving Cert, I got 510 points, I was delighted!

My Family

My sister Claire is 15 and my brother David is 12. My sister loves fashion, we love shopping for clothes together, and she loves when I do her hair for her. My brother is excited to start secondary school this year, he's looking forward to making new friends and learning German! Growing up we were all very close, and I loved helping my parents with them whenever I could.

My Motivation

As an aspiring primary school teacher, every experience I have working with children is special! I love helping to build children's confidence as I remember how important positive role models were to me when I was little! Encouraging teachers I had in primary school and fun, caring babysitters who minded me as a child always had a lasting impact on me, and ended up inspiring me to pursue teaching as a career!

My Interests

I love basketball and play on my college's team. I take self-defence classes weekly. I run regularly, and in the summer I love to sea swim!

My Personality

I'm a very active person who loves being outside, and loves playing sport. I like playing games outside with children I'm minding when the weather is nice. I'm very patient, and am more than happy to help your children with their homework.
