My Favourite Memory

My favourite memory in relation to child care would be a couple of years ago when I was Volunteering at a camp in New Hampshire.A little girl called Autumn was acting out by climbing the trees (which was dangerous) and refusing to listen to the camp leaders. After a brief heartfelt conversation with her, I learned that the reason she refused to participate was because she wasn’t interested in the game that the other campers were playing. So I asked her what she would like to do instead, and she explained to me how she loves gymnastics and showed me some of her favourite skills!Coincidentally, I used to do competitive gymnastics for a few years. When I told her this, she was very excited and we were able to show each other our favourite skills and I was even able to teach her some new ones.

My Experience

Hey, my name is Katie! I’m 18 years old and I’m a second year Marketing student in Dublin. I love singing, dancing and I have a grade 4 in speech and drama. I recently did volunteer work for a camp called camp Lincoln in New Hampshire where I worked with kids between the ages of 3 to 7 and facilitated their camp activities. I recently volunteered for an organisation called Gather that provides food for children and families in New Hampshire North America. I recently volunteered with an organisation called friends in action where I spent time with and facilitated activities for participants with different intellectual disabilities. As well as that I volunteered with an organisation called Edgewood home for the elderly where I spent time talking with, entertaining and organising activities for elderly residents. I have been babysitting my younger sister for around 6 years. I have also previously babysat a 7 year old and an 9 year old. I have most recently babysat a toddler and a 4 year old.

My Family

I come from a big family of seven! All daughters, we are all very outgoing and we are all very loving :)
