Dear Family
Dear Families, I am Marla from El Salvador. My native language is Spanish. I can speak intermediate English and basic Japanese, I love learning different languages and cultures! I am a responsible and friendly girl who loves spending time with children, playing with them, teaching and learning from them too. I love making a child smile and forming a friendship bond. By being an au pair, I want to share incredible moments with children, I would see them like my little siblings. I would like to create good memories, not only for my host kids, but also for my host parents. I have experience with the care of children between 1.5 to 10 years old. It will be nice to meet you!
My Favourite Memory
One of my most memorable experiences as a babysitter was in 2021, during the period just after the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was responsible for taking care of two sisters, a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old girl. Before going out, I ensured we were prepared with masks, hand sanitizer, and a few snacks. At the park, they immediately ran towards the playground, eager to play with their little friends who were also there. We made sure to sanitize our hands before and after using any play equipment. I kept a close eye on them, ensuring they maintained a safe distance from other children where possible. It was a bit challenging, but the kids were cooperative. I joined in the fun, running around and making sure everyone was included and having a good time. When they got tired, we sat for a snack. I reminded them to sanitize their hands before eating and after a couple of hours, it was time to back home.
My Experience
I have gotten experience in child care working in a children's museum in my country where I taught children in funny ways (Groups of 10-20 children normally) and as a babysitter where my activities was: taking care of children, playing, drawing, doing crafts and helping with homework, taking care of children of 2, 6 and 8 years old.
My Education
I studied Marketing. Now I'm practicing by myself languages, I am learning English in a school of Dublin, at the same time, I am studying by myself Japanese and Portuguese through the internet. I am also interested in studying psychology.
My Family
My family llive in El Salvador, Central America. My parents, both are retired administrative assistants, but now they dedicate to church activities. I have an older sister who works for a volleyball company and a younger sister who is studying psychology. We love spending time together, whether it’s watching series and movies, exploring the outdoors, visiting tourist spots, or simply chatting. We also have two little cats, our youngest and we love them so much. Family is very important to me.
My Motivation
I love spending time with children, teaching them and playing with them. I really would like to work as a minder and know an amazing family and create good memories together. I want to grow personally, learn a lot with this experience and improve English or learn another language.
My Interests
About my hobbies and interests, I love drawing and painting, going to cinema, read books, actually, reading it gives me a lot of inspiration to draw. I love watching series and movies. I also really enjoy spending my time at home drawing on my computer or in my sketchbook, playing video games, reading or watching series.
