Job Description
We are looking for a caring, energetic, long-term minder who will become part of our happy family. This position involves looking after our 3 loving children, organising fun and educational activities, preparing nutritous snacks and meals and taking them to playdates, to the playground or the library etc. This position is starting from May/June and runs Monday to Friday, ideally from 8/8.30am -5.30/6pm. These hours can be negotiated for the right candidate. From September, our two girls will attend the local school (6 minutes walk) and it will just be the baby at home until school collection at 2.30. We would like someone who is happy to do general housework / tidying, laundry and doing the weekly supermarket shop.
Our Family Routine
During school term the mornings are a little busier, but everyone enjoys a nice nutritous breakfast at home before the commute to school. We prioritise homework, dinner and downtime in the evenings so that everyone can unwind. During summer, we are led by the children (and the weather!) The girls are very content at home doing arts and crafts or playing games with their brother in their playroom. They are happy to play on their trampoline or set up games in the garden, as well as to go further afield to meet their friends in the playground or at the local tennis courts.
Our Home Environment
We have a very spacious back garden with a large trampoline and climbing frame as well as Wendy house. We also have a playroom filled with fun games, educational toys and lots of arts and crafts.
Our Expectations
Our children have always been in creche environments. This will be our first experience of having a baby with a minder, so it's very important to us that he has the same hands-on social and educational experiences as he would have in a creche. Our girls are really agreeable and are as open to adventure as they are to relaxing at home with jigsaws and colouring.
Qualifications and Experience
Early toddler development is particularly important to us, so experience in this area is a huge plus. Our middle child will also be starting primary school in September and so helping prepare her for that through montessori work is extremely important to us too. A focus on education is really important to us. Our priority is to have someone who gels well with us and our children and becomes an extension of our family.
Our Budget
This is our first experience of a professional minder (as opposed to montessori and afterschool care) and we are open to negotiation for the right person who is committed to our family on a long-term basis.
